Project Overview:

Under the recent franchise award, SWR had a committed obligation to replace all legacy station lighting (16,000+) with new, energy saving LED luminaires. The Capex of £6m represented a significant investment in the station estate and aside from the obvious energy savings, the improved lighting performance would have a positive effect to the overall station environment and passenger journey experience. Services provided by Gryphon included:

Contract Administrator / Employers Representative

  • Administer and oversee all contract related correspondence relating to variations, contract change notices, claims and extensions of time
  • Support contract negotiations; commercial and technical requirements
  • Undertake surveillance audits and checks relating to performance, QHSE matters and general compliance
  • Monitor financial and delivery performance of principal contractors with the support of the QS
  • Stakeholder management

Commercial Manager / QS

  • Construct financial and cost tracking tools appropriate to the contract and contract deliverables
  • Track, record and report on all cost related activities associated with the project; materials, installs, change requests, variations
  • Analyse project performance and identify any trends that are likely to impact successful project delivery
  • Preparation of Project Board and corporate reporting data
